Email scam encountered
This is to alert you to a bogus email received by a Paynesville resident in mid-September.
The sender address appears as: “From: Karen Langmo <john@4dpr—–.com>”, so you can see Karen’s name, but what is obviously not an email address for her.
It starts out: “I need your assistance, are you available? I’m out of town, I need you to handle this for Koronis Lake Association. . . .”
Further details are omitted here other than to say it asks for the recipient to purchase gift cards to fund some “charity.” The letter is “signed” by Karen Langmo.
Karen has nothing to do with this. DO NOT RESPOND TO ANY SIMILAR SOLICITATIONS.

— This post is obsolete. Meeting date as of 9/11/2020 is 10/1/2020. Go to the WPP Public Hearing Page link at the bottom for the latest information.
Aug. 17, 2020 was the original date set for the public hearing at which time the Engineering and Viewers report will be presented to the public. Due to the unexpectedly large audience, no action was taken other than to continue the meeting to September 9, 2020. The meeting time has been set for 6:00 PM and will be held virtually due to state executive orders. As the details for calling into the meeting or attending the meeting virtually via a computer are known we will update the KLA website and the NFCRWD website. This information will also be in the individual property owner’s letters which are to be sent out very soon. This meeting will be managed by the NFCRWD with the help of the Engineering company. The meeting will be the opportunity for all to be heard. More information to come!
Important additional information is available on the WPP Public Hearing page.
